Concept and genesis

We had already acquired some experience and expertise in the field of multi-plane, notably with the development of a biplane adapter on our historic foil, the Horue Vini and Vini V2, released in 2015. The biplane, developed in 2018 for the Vini, was intended first for use in low winds, allowing to combine several wings and thus to multiply the surfaces and possible combinations. With a lot of interesting feedback on the product, this gave birth to a new idea in our team.

The specifications for a new foil were simple : responsive - predictable - finesse.

The biplane architecture allowed us to combine many solutions necessary to meet the specifications.

After four months of CAD, Simulation, CFAO and testing, Libel is finally ready!

The Libel is also the first model to come from the platform of the new mast SM1 which will provide an ultra-complete range of foils for all uses, with 960 unique setup with only 1 mast!

Mast

The SM1 mast is designed to minimize drag and maximize its stiffness.

The morphing mast profile brings maximum rigidity near the head of the mast for an ultra versatile and completely predictable mast underfoot.

The bi-conical heels at each end allow you to mount the binding system suitable for any board.

Wings

Libel is designed with extreme manoeuvrability in mind. To combine extreme finesse, lightness and maneuverability, our studies and calculations led us to the design of a biplane-type foil.

The biplane allows high ratio wings in a mdium to small wingspan. This enhance the Rail To Rail and encourages making incisive trajectories.

We already offer a wide range of high and low front wings, which will expand!

The HD front wings come from our High level Departement. HD series is recommended only for experts riders.

Top Front Wing

Several areas are available for the top wing of the LIBEL biplane. The available surfaces range starts from 306cm², to 780cm².

The “T” wing range is machined from G10, providing rigidity and durability.

Fuselage

The Horue Libel foil is designed to convert every rider’s movement into a trajectory. Depending on your need for responsiveness, you can choose the length of the fuselage that fit your needs.

Fuselage Short 53 WG

The Short 53 fuselage completely frees the Libel foil, allowing all the most radical maneuvers thanks to its explosive reactivity. This is THE fuselage that designer Philippe Caneri recommends on the Libel for wingfoil and surfoil.

Fuselage Medium 60 WG

The medium 60 fuselage allows to take its marks on the Libel foil. Very playful, however, you are never surprised by his linear responsiveness which will suit intermediate levels.

The medium 75 WD fuselage is the one to choose for a windfoil use with the LIBEL biplane.

Fuselage Long 68 WG

The Long 68 fuselage is designed for riders coming from a very stable and locked foil in order to take their marks before moving to a shorter fuselage. With this fuselage, the Libel is stable and easy, the curves are larges and not incisive.

Stabilizer

The Horue Libel foil is available with several stabilizers to best suit the needs of each rider. Each stabilizer has an angle adjustment system to adapt to your downforce needs.

Stab 210

The best stab for those looking for the best maneuverability possible with a very playful foil, which places itself in a curve without inertia. Perfect for Rail To Rail surfing, or radical wingfoil tricks.

Stab 245

Plate for US rails

Our plate for US rail fit the current standards with a lateral distance of 90mm.

The small longitudinal distance, authorized thanks to the biplane geometry, allows a greater range of longitudinal adjustment on the US rails.

The system of screw holes through the plate keeps the nuts in place without them being able to move between two sessions. The system also allows to unlock the T-nuts without removing the plate, and therefore to adjust the longitudinal position.

Plate for US rails

Our plate GAP for US rail fit the current standards with a lateral distance of 90mm.

The 100mm offset, forward or backward, allows to adapt to US rails which would be badly placed on the board.

The system of screw holes through the plate keeps the nuts in place without them being able to move between two sessions. The system also allows to unlock the T-nuts without removing the plate, and therefore to adjust the longitudinal position.

Deep Tuttle Box

The Deep Tuttle box allows the use of thick boards and is a standard in windsurfing and wingfoil world.

Kf-Box system

The Kf-Box is a standard in kitefoil. It allows the use of medium thickness boards.
